I was originally drawn into film and TV as a writer — my first project was writing a period cannibal convict film shot in the late 90s on Super16mm. Followed that up with a short-but-spectacular career as an avante-garde poet (seriously) that ended in a cross-country tour in a pink ambulance, before jumping into professional production.
I've written reams of script for broadcast ever since - promos or series at BookTV, years of journalism writing in the edit suites at Global, and plenty of freelance scripts, dramaturgy and story-notes. Story is everything.
Currently focused on writing short films and developing TV projects. The short film TIMEBOX I wrote & produced screened at the Philip K Dick Film Festival, Arizona Underground Film Fest, Atlanta Underground Film Fest and others, and will have its TV premiere on CBC's Canadian Reflections this fall.
Currently, I'm writing a yet-to-be announced sci-fi project for Shaftesbury (famous for Murdoch Mysteries, Carmilla, Frankie Drake and Slasher etc), and revising the short film HYPERNOVA before diving back into the final script on my hour-long doc THE MUSIC OF MADNESS.
If yr interested in reading something, try the ebook LoFi-Sci-Fi in the Land of Gangnam, published by NMK in 2013. A tale of implosion and doom set at a Korean Film Festival for kids, it makes most people giggle.
