Originally drawn into film and TV as a writer—my first project was writing a period cannibal convict film shot in the late 90s on Super16mm. Followed that up with more screenplays, a short-but-spectacular career as an avante-garde poet (seriously), before jumping into professional production.
I've written reams of script for broadcast ever since - whether writing promos or series at BookTV, the years of journalistic writing in the edit suites at Global, the freelance scripts, or the 3000 word story-notes I hand in on features. Everything in production needs good writing and re-writing at its core and I apply that perspective to every project I work on. Story is everything. And I’m getting back into script development these days. Cause writing is a long game.
