From Haphead - confrontation scenes, kitchen sink, a few tears, couple punches, a dying iguana-love working with actors to push the tension in a scene, uncover the guts of it and bring it to life. Don't have an official theatre directing background, but find the experience of interviewing hundreds of folks on-camera for documentary & non-fiction to be oddly sympatico. If everyone's comfortable, knows what the want to say, how they're going to say it-magic.
